WHAT IS CHIKUNGUNYA ???

Chikungunya is an illness caused by a virus that spreads through mosquito bites. The virus is passed to humans by two species of mosquito of the genus Aedes: A. albopictus and A. aegypti.

THE SYMPTOMS IS :-

• FEVER
• JOIN PAINT
• HEADACHE 
• MUSCLE PAINT
• JOINT SWELLING

HOW IT IS TRANSMITTED ???

THROUGH MOSQUITOES BITES : - Chikungunya virus is transmitted to people through mosquito bites. These mosquitoes can be found biting throughout daylight hours, although there may be peaks activity in the early morning and late afternoon.

FROM MOTHER TO CHILD : -  Chikungunya virus is transmitted rarely from mother to newborn around the time of birth.

THROUGH INFECTED BLOOD : - The virus could be spread through a blood transfusion.

HOW TO PREVENT ???

• No vaccine exist to prevent chikungunya virus infection or disease.
• Prevent chikungunya virus infection by avoiding mosquitoes bites.
• The mosquitoes that spread the chikungunya virus bite mostly during daytime.
